More Antique Tools with Roger

Is it a salad bowl or laundry tub? A pot for flowers? Or for fire? We’re not sure we have all the right answers, but we sure had a lot of fun talking with master carpenter Roger Bailey about some of the old wooden tools found at Tippesaukee Farm.

Roger shares his knowledge of tools and history in our latest Crosscurrents Conversations: “Antique Tools with Roger Part 2.” While our first conversation with Roger focused on metal tools, this episode focuses primarily on wooden tools, some of which date as far back as the 1860s. As usual, we try to stump Roger, and this time it seems like we succeeded! Perhaps you will know the use of the turned wooden vessel that Roger calls “The Stumper.” Click the link below and let us know.

Also stay tuned for our new guided tour of the Old Coumbe House and grounds, coming later this year. In this multimedia and hands-on tour, you will be able to touch and smell history–and perhaps even taste it. We look forward to connecting with you at Crosscurrents Heritage Center in 2026.
